Role Overview:
As Vice President at Society22 PR, you will play a pivotal role in leading high-level strategic communications initiatives, managing client relationships, overseeing account teams, and ensuring the agency’s continued growth. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape the agency’s vision, drive business development, and lead innovative PR campaigns across a variety of industries. The VP is responsible for maintaining high standards of client service, offering strategic counsel, and driving results that align with both agency and client goals.
Responsibilities:
Client Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and oversee strategic PR plans: Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and develop communication strategies that align with their goals. This includes media relations, content creation, crisis communication, and digital strategy.
- Serve as the senior client contact: The VP is the senior point of contact for high-level client communications, providing strategic counsel and ensuring the client’s needs are met. This includes conducting regular performance reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend strategic pivots.
- Crisis Communication Management: Lead crisis management efforts, acting as the spokesperson when necessary and working with clients to develop and implement comprehensive crisis communication plans. This includes preparing clients for media interviews and public statements.
- Innovative Solutions: Identify new opportunities for clients to enhance their public image, brand reputation, or achieve business growth through PR activities. Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies that can benefit clients.
Team & Account Management:
- Manage and mentor teams: Lead, mentor, and develop account teams, ensuring quality control, client retention, and professional growth within the team. This includes regular performance reviews, goal setting, and providing guidance for professional development.
- Ensure workflow efficiency: Allocate resources effectively and oversee the delegation of work, ensuring all team members are working toward the same goal while meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by building strong relationships within industry networks.
- Participate in pitch meetings, create proposals, and contribute to the development of new service offerings.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to shape the agency’s overall growth strategy and explore avenues for expansion.
- Act as a spokesperson and agency representative at industry events, conferences, and in media interactions.
Financial Management:
- Manage budgets for client accounts, ensuring profitability while delivering impactful campaigns.
- Provide monthly reporting on account performance, financials, and projections to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to upsell existing clients by offering additional services or expanding current programs.
Crisis Management:
- Serve as a key strategist in crisis situations, developing rapid response plans and providing real-time counsel to mitigate reputational damage.
- Guide clients through sensitive communications, ensuring their messaging is consistent, clear, and strategically aligned.
Agency Leadership:
- Contribute to agency-wide decision-making processes, offering insight on operations, talent acquisition, and agency culture.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior management to refine the agency’s vision and enhance its reputation in the market.
- Spearhead internal initiatives that foster innovation, creativity, and a collaborative working environment.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of PR agency experience with a strong focus on media relations, strategic communications, and crisis management.
- Proven track record of managing high-profile client accounts and driving results.
- Proven leadership experience, managing teams and client accounts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to lead client meetings, presentations, and media interviews.
- Strong business acumen, including experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and meeting financial targets.
- Deep industry knowledge and established media relationships within the sectors relevant to the agency’s clients, such as technology, healthcare, or consumer brands
