The Opportunity That Awaits You:
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey that will revolutionize the way men suffering from BPH are treated? Join us a Staff Systems Engineer with a software focus, you will be responsible for driving the software architecture and integration of software systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, firmware, hardware, quality, and regulatory experts, to ensure the system’s software architecture and performance align with both product requirements and industry regulations. This role is critical for ensuring the reliability, safety, and usability of our advanced robotic platforms.
What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:- Lead the design and development of software architecture for robotic medical devices, ensuring seamless integration with hardware and firmware components
- Collaborate with product management, clinical specialists, and cross-functional teams to define and document software and system-level requirements that meet both user needs and regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 14971)
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers and cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with system-level objectives and best practices
- •Engage in risk analysis, ensuring that software development follows industry standards for safety, cybersecurity, and reliability in medical devices
- Collaborate on software verification and validation strategies, ensuring that software components are tested and comply with safety standards and performance requirements
- Support initiatives to improve software development processes, including adopting best practices in DevOps, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automated testing
- Collaborate with regulatory and quality teams to ensure all software components meet relevant medical device regulations, such as FDA, CE Mark, and ISO standards
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or software development, with at least 4 years of experience in systems engineering in the medical device industry
- Experience in Systems Engineering as related to stakeholder needs definition, creation of use case workflows, requirements definition and decomposition, functional architecture, and system design.
- Experience generating technical documentation such as product requirements, specifications, engineering reports, test plans & procedures, validation plans and reports
- Proven experience in designing and developing software systems for complex, safety-critical environments
- Deep understanding of software development life cycles, especially in the context of regulated industries
The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess - Matlab, ROS, Python, or C++ development skills, including software design and hardware integration
- Knowledge of utilizing and customizing systems engineering tools such as Doors or JAMA
- Experience with usability engineering (human factors)

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $164000- 205,000 per year.
Plus, eligibility for an annual bonus and equity/RSUs.

PAY RANGE TRANSPARENCY
Procept is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
We’ll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance. We would also ask you to understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality & EHS policies.
