Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to participate in a team tasked with providing Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific system administration and information assurance (IA) support for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)/High Side Networks (HSN) and information systems for various intelligence programs being work at the Command.
The task will require the Cybersecurity Engineer to provide IA support directly related to information security (INFOSEC), computer security, communications security (COMSEC), continuity of operations planning (COOP), risk management framework (RMF), and information technology (IT) management on the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) and National Security Agency Network (NSANet).
The ideal candidate will have experience with the latest web-based technologies and a history of direct involvement with successful application development and engineering efforts ranging from unclassified up to TS/SCI. This position will directly support NIWC Pacific on-site in San Diego, CA.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages, installs, upkeeps, configures, and provides reliable operation of computer systems and network infrastructure devices
- Operates and troubleshoots computer systems, applications, and supporting hardware, and resolves issues
- Answers technical questions, manages accounts, manages access controls, permissions, and license management; participates in technical-related meetings, as needed
- Installs, configures, and administers systems/infrastructure and performs capacity management
- Ensures compliance with Intelligence Community Security and IA policies, processes, and procedures, as well as cybersecurity directives and mandates
- Documents configurations and changes, provides technical engineering, and designs review for new server systems, applications, infrastructure, and hardware
- Supports installation and management of network hardware, firmware upgrades, and configurations as well as security compliance and reporting, and provides technical support to resolve issues related to network connectivity
- Develops and/or analyzes security architectures, standards and specifications
- Researches new technology and recommends hardware and software, introducing and integrating new technologies into existing environments
- Reviews/updates existing system security documentation; develops RMF packages and provides expertise for re-certification and/or re-accreditation cycles; maintains configuration management of accreditation documents
- Employs software tools to support automated security assessment and accreditation process
- Ensures protection control and adequacy of COMSEC measures
Minimum Skills & Requirements - Ten (10) years of experience with installation, modification, repair, operation, and removal of ISSM systems
- Five (5) years of experience preparing system accreditation packages
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
- DOD 8570 IAT II certification, e.g. Security+
- Experience with:
- Verifying system configuration compliance in accordance with DoD STIGs and IAVAs
- Hardware assembly, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and network connectivity support
- JWICS and NSA networks and associated encryption and firewall devices
- Installation, administration, troubleshooting, and configuration of enterprise and non-enterprise virtual machines
- Maintenance and configuration of Cisco network device
- Maintenance of port security on all network devices
- Coordination with local system administrators with deployment of new computers, VoIP, dVTC, and sVTC devices
Desired Skills & Requirements
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of TACLANE (KG-175)
- Familiarity with GemONE software
- Experience in Scrum and Agile development is a plus
- CCNA certification is a plus
