Our clientis a combined for-profit and non-profit organization dedicated to providing economic and cultural opportunities to Pueblo communities and others. Our client is owned by the 19 Pueblo Tribes of New Mexico.
They develop, own and operate a diverse portfolio of retail, restaurant, and hotel properties among other revenue streams. The campus serves as a gathering place where Pueblo Culture is celebrated through creative and cultural experiences including a museum and frequent events open to the public.
Our client seeks a
Chief Executive Officer who will lead the team as they continue driving growth upholding the mission of sharing the stories of the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico.
This position is based on-site at the campus in the heart of Albuquerque. Relocation assistance is available for this critical role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and lead the implementation of the strategic plan to advance our mission and generate revenue, profitability, business growth and appreciation of Pueblo culture
- Clearly communicate the vision and strategic direction to stakeholders, including employees, shareholders, donors, customers, and business and government partners
- Financial Management:
- Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, philanthropic organizations, government entities, and other funding sources
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing executive team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, best practices, and continuous improvement
- Develop and mentor the executive team, providing opportunities for professional growth while leveraging their expertise and capabilities to achieve organizational goals.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and manage potential risks to the organization's assets, operations, and reputation
- Oversee and ensure compliance with governance practices and ethical standards
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years in a Senior Executive position leading successful business operations including P&L responsibility, budgets, and forecasting.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead a large, complex organization, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including experience with P&L management, capital markets, and investment analysis.
Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans focused on growth and value creation.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience collaborating with Tribal, City, State, and Federal government organizations
- Knowledge of the art, culture, heritage, and government and business structures of New Mexico Pueblo Indians
- Experience with commercial real estate, property management, and retail development
- Knowledge/experience with operations of non-profit organizations.
