What You Will Do
As Security Analyst, you will help maintain and enhance the organization's security posture by supporting various security initiatives, monitoring security systems, and responding to security incidents. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity and are eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
The Opportunity
- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM systems, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Analyze and triage security incidents, escalating to senior team members as necessary. Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents
- Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments of IT systems and applications. Work with IT teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and track the remediation progress. Assist in the development and implementation of patch management processes
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies. Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures. Participate in security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts. Prepare regular reports on security metrics and trends for management review
- Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training for employees. Stay current with emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices
This position is designed to be a hybrid role, splitting time between the office and a work from home environment.
This position may require minimal travel to trainings or conference events.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in related field required. Equivalent real-world experience and/or additional training or certifications may be accepted in lieu of education requirement.
- 0-2 years of related cybersecurity experience preferred.
- Cybersecurity certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and insured automobile required.
Knowledge requirements:
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and security principles
- Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners
- Working knowledge of Linux OS, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 Suite of products, diagnostic utilities, Windows Server 2019/2022, PowerShell, MSSQL, basic networking
- Experience with risk assessment, penetration testing, and incident response methodologies
