Senior Network Engineer - CISCO
Remote
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Cisco technologies, a proven track record of working on large, complex network infrastructures, and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Responsibilities:
Remote Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain the core IP network infrastructure remotely, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Develop and implement network standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems, often virtually.
Remote Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide tier 2 troubleshooting for network-related issues remotely.
- Identify and resolve network performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including MOPs and diagrams, while working remotely.
Remote Network Auditing and Recommendations:
- Audit network activities remotely to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
- Provide recommendations for network improvements and optimizations to the client's engineering team, often through virtual meetings or written reports.
Cisco Certifications:
- Possess CCNA and CCNP certifications or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, and security.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network architectures.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of network security best practices and technologies.
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Experience authoring MOP's and getting them executed
- Tier II Support to engineers
- Able to work downlink uplink migrations and Chassie swaps
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on large, complex network infrastructures, with a significant portion of that experience in remote environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and clients virtually.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
