Senior Systems Administrator
San Jose CA Senior Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and securing our client's diverse computing environments, including Windows client operating systems, Apple macOS, Linux, and endpoint security. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity, availability, and security of our clients' IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Endpoint Security:
a. Design, implement, and manage comprehensive endpoint security solutions to safeguard client systems and data.
b. Perform regular vulnerability assessments, threat monitoring, and incident response to mitigate risks.
2. Operating Systems Management:
a. Manage and maintain Windows client operating systems, Apple macOS, and Linux systems, ensuring their optimal performance and security.
b. Implement OS updates, patches, and configurations as required.
3. PKI and Microsoft ADCS:
a. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) to manage and secure digital certificates.
b. Configure and monitor certificate issuance, renewal, and revocation processes.
4. System Integration and Automation:
a. Integrate various systems and tools to create a cohesive and efficient IT environment.
b. Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance system performance.
5. Security Best Practices:
a. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging threats to proactively enhance the security posture of client systems.
b. Conduct security audits, assess vulnerabilities, and implement necessary remediation measures.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
a. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, policies, and procedures.
b. Generate reports on system performance, security status, and incidents for management and clients.
7. Collaborative Support:
a. Work closely with the IT team to provide support and assistance in resolving complex technical issues.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in system administration with expertise in Windows client operating systems, Apple macOS, and Linux.
• Strong knowledge of endpoint security solutions, antivirus, anti-malware, and intrusion detection systems.
• Proficiency in PKI and Microsoft ADCS.
• Scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus
