Job Description:
As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in the migration of Cisco ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls. This position requires deep knowledge of both Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewall systems, including how various parts of the ASA configuration translate to the Palo Alto system. You must also have expertise in Palo Alto Panorama and the Expedition conversion tool. You will bring advanced experience in application development and architecture, enabling you to deliver high-quality support and design for complex, industry-specific applications that require integration with client-wide systems or applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the migration of Cisco ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls.
- Translate Cisco ASA firewall configurations to Palo Alto systems, ensuring accurate and secure migration.
- Utilize Palo Alto Panorama and the Expedition conversion tool to facilitate and manage the migration process.
- Identify and implement best practices and standards for the use of Palo Alto firewalls.
- Deliver technical support and design for applications requiring integration with statewide systems or applications.
- Interact with executive-level business users or technical experts, functioning as a niche technical subject matter expert (SME).
- Provide advanced expertise in the required technical subject matter, contributing to large and complex implementations.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Expertise in Palo Alto firewalls.
- Proven experience converting Cisco ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls.
- Advanced experience with Palo Alto Panorama and the Expedition conversion tool.
- Ability to convey technical and functional concepts effectively.
- Experience in application development and architecture.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
