Data Architect - AWS

Remote: Hybrid remote, 3 days in the office weekly

Reports To: Director of Data Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Architecting scalable, reliable, high-performing data pipelines and analytics systems in AWS
- Developing scalable/efficient data pipelines that ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources
- Conducting performance tuning and optimization of data processing workflows, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Optimizing data storage, processing, and retrieval mechanisms for performance/cost-efficiency
- Automating deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using AWS services such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EMR
- Collaborating with data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements
- Implementing best practices for data governance, security, and compliance in alignment with industry standards and regulations
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing data engineering solutions on the AWS platform
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect with a focus on AWS
- Expertise in AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Kinesis
- Strong programming skills with Python, Scala, or Java
- Hands-on experience with big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage and retrieval
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Big Data Specialty certification is preferred
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment
- Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts is a preferred

Compensation:
- $130K - $140K + 20% Bonus
