Position Overview
The Associate Cyber Risk Analyst will assist in identifying, assessing, and managing cybersecurity risks across the organization. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for cybersecurity and a desire to grow their expertise in risk analysis and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Assist in evaluating cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to the organization’s information systems and data.
- Incident Analysis: Support the investigation of security incidents and breaches, including gathering and analyzing data, and preparing reports on findings.
- Policy and Compliance: Help ensure that security policies and procedures are followed, and assist in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Monitoring: Assist in monitoring security systems and tools for signs of potential threats or anomalies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present risk analysis reports, status updates, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work with IT and other departments to address and mitigate identified risks and vulnerabilities.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to effectively contribute to the organization’s risk management strategies.
Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT risk management, or a related role is preferred. Relevant internships or academic projects will also be considered.
- Skills:
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, risk assessment methodologies, and threat landscape.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP (Associate), or equivalent are a plus but not required.
