Position Overview
The Senior Director of Cybersecurity will oversee the development and execution of our cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the protection of our information systems, data, and technology infrastructure. This role involves working closely with executive leadership to align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives, managing a team of cybersecurity professionals, and staying ahead of evolving threats to maintain the highest levels of security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with organizational goals. Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity matters to senior executives and board members.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities. Ensure robust risk management processes are in place and regularly updated.
- Incident Response: Oversee the development and execution of incident response plans. Lead response efforts during security incidents and ensure effective resolution and communication.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Technology and Tools: Evaluate and implement cybersecurity technologies and tools. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats to continuously enhance security posture.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to integrate cybersecurity measures into all aspects of the organization. Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry groups.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of managing complex cybersecurity operations and teams.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, threat detection, and incident response. Familiarity with various security technologies and tools.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executive stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations effectively.
