Position Overview:
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate solutions, troubleshooting issues, and providing strategic guidance on system architecture and improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Applying system’s engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement.
- Interact with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Communicate with other TDP project personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives.
- Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, to include: Technical Process Area, Enterprise Process Area, and Agreement Process Area.
- Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents.
- Supervise and mentor subordinate project and team staff.
- Experience with the creation and modification of Puppet and PowerShell automated installation scripts. Including Bash and Ruby
- Understanding and working with build pipelines
- Troubleshooting DCGS FoS component interoperability issues
- Preparing the automated software packages for delivery to the field
- Experience integrating hardware drivers, software releases, and IAVA packages.
- Java or C# experience.
- Travel Minimal
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 2 years of position-relevant work experience.
- Experience with Atlassian suite, this includes JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Maven.
- Experience with Nexus used to hold compiled binaries.
- Experience with Ansible (automating SW deployments)
- Experience with OpenShift (VM and container platform)
- Able to obtain DoD 8570.01-m IAM Level III or IASAE Level III w/180 days of start date.
- Active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in STEM field.
- Experience with DoD 5000.02 documentation requirements.
- Experience with use case development.
- Experience with requirements derivation.
- Experience with developing technical project artifacts.
- Familiarity with Agile software development process.
- Experience with software engineering processes.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle.
