Position Summary
The Senior Security Engineer (SSE) will be responsible for enterprise-wide system and network security, including cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of enterprise security and demonstrate expertise in evaluating, integrating & implementing, configuring, maintaining, and utilizing a broad range of security platforms and tools throughout a diverse environment. As Senior Security Engineer, you will be the lead in addressing any and all security events as well as being the hands-on security expert for systems and networks. As SSE, you will also collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop and maintain security policies, standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities
- Deploy and support the infrastructure that facilitates all aspects of the security capability of the organization.
- Execute and continuously advance the development of security capabilities across the environment.
- Plan, implement, and maintain security measures to protect the organization's computer networks, data, and systems.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s IT infrastructure in order to provide continuous monitoring and evaluate potential threats.
- Conduct routine reporting on security threats, metrics, and defense effectiveness.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of and experience utilizing and supporting a broad range of cybersecurity systems and tools (Next generation firewalls, Network, Cloud and Endpoint Detection & Response, Security Automation, SIEM, Identity and Access management, Vulnerability Assessment tools, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in hardening Linux environments
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in hardening O365
- Extensive knowledge of networking
- Competent in managing, creating, monitoring, and triaging incidents and alerts.
- Capable of conducting defensive and offensive security assessments and the ability to analyze the results in order to provide effective remediation proposals and suggestions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote and/or geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of a variety of programming languages, scripting, and automation technologies.
- Desire to stay on the cutting edge of the field and a broader interest in industry trends in cyber offensive and defensive operations.
- Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to take the lead on allocated responsibilities.
- Experience in Software Development Live Cycle (SDLC) for security testing and secure development practices.
- Familiarity and experience with various forms of compliance.
- Experience working in data and system sensitive environments a plus.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Minimum 5 years of IT Systems & Network Security experience
- B.A. Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

- Self-starter who can operate with minimal oversight
