Role: Administrator of IT Systems and Security

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and dynamic professional to join our team as the Administrator of IT Systems and Security. This pivotal role will oversee and optimize our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and robust security measures.
Gotransverse is an Apple Mac shop with our main toolset being: Office365, Atlassian (Jira / confluence) Slack and Okta SSO. Our office network is based on Ubiquiti equipment. We use Kandji for Device Management.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Administration of Key Corporate IT Systems, Applications, and Network:
• Manage, secure, administer, and optimize core business applications and systems
• Oversee system upgrades, security patches, migrations, and integrations
• Ensure high availability and performance of critical IT infrastructure
• Review security logs for high or critical security events or vulnerabilities
• Manage network Wi-Fi routers mobile and troubleshoot connectivity
2) IT Security and General Compliance:
• Assist with comprehensive and current cybersecurity strategies/best practices
• Assist with annual security audits, server inventory, vulnerability oversight, virtual server environment security standardization, and risk assessments
• Document current operational security practices that can impact incident response, business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Perform compliance task verification for major and minor releases
• Assist with security awareness training content curation and administration
3) Procurement:
• Assist with the acquisition of physical and virtual IT hardware, software, license management and IT services globally.
• Review existing vendor contracts, assist in re-negotiation and manage vendor relationships
• Architect cost-effective methodologies for procurement of hardware and software for new and existing solutions including function-redundancy or gap analysis, and best practices.
4) Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor departments on IT systems, Single Sign-on, security best practices, troubleshooting, and application use
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while maintaining an organized and structured workflow
• Collaborate with heads of departments and project stakeholders to inventory, understand and meet business needs
5) Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in IT administration/design/compliance/procurement roles
• Technical school or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
• Strong knowledge of IT security threats, best practices and compliance requirements
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
• Proven track record in managing enterprise-level IT systems and applications
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, ITIL, PMP) are a plus
6) Applications knowledge:
Required certifications and experience:
• Apple / Mac OS
• Auth0 or a similar OIDC authentication/authorization provider experience
• Kandji Administration
• Okta, Okta SCIM Administration
• Microsoft 365 Office suite, including Microsoft Defender Administration and licensing
• 1Password
Additional desired certifications and/or experience:
• Wi-Fi network management
• Linux RedHat 7 or AlmaLinux 9 certification or >3 years of experience
• VPN
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 for developers and web application security
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 large language models (AI)
• Alert Logic certification or a confident proficiency
• Microsoft Teams app, Teams rooms, equipment setup and troubleshooting
• Basic-level Excel and SharePoint PowerShell skills
• Atlassian toolset - including administration of Jira and Confluence, and customizing Jira tickets Slack User, group and integration Administration
