Systems Engineer I
IntePros is seeking a seasoned infrastructure engineer to drive the evaluation, planning, and management of on-premise server infrastructure to support a telecommunications client. The ideal candidate will oversee QA and test automation, infrastructure lifecycle management, and feature enhancement recommendations to optimize service delivery and operational stability.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain existing lab infrastructure leveraging defined ticketing and resource scheduling processes.
- Participates in evaluation of new and existing server infrastructure capabilities and features, to ensure requirements are met for both existing applications and new product services.
- Contributes to architectural discussions, with both internal and external peers, to ensure proposed solutions are meeting business and operational needs.
- Participates in collaborations with other engineering and operational organizations to understand unmet requirements and challenges, and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with peers related to the compute and storage certification automation, bare metal provisioning automation, domain specific automations, etc.
- Collaborates with peers to set standards for approved infrastructure deployments and integrations.
- Works with leadership to refine and effect current processes.
What are the top MUST HAVE skill sets (technical) that are required?
- Extensive Experience in Data Center Infrastructure: At least five years of experience in administrating, integrating, and designing data center solutions, including server hardware, virtualization platforms, SAN switching, storage technologies, and basic networking. This ensures a solid foundation in the key components of data center management.
- Proficiency in Automation and Scripting: Demonstrated experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as BASH/Shell, Python, or Ansible. This is crucial for effective infrastructure management, test automation, and process optimization.
- Expertise in Cloud Architectures and Software Defined Data Centers: A minimum of two years of experience designing and engineering Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) solutions, with knowledge in workload optimization and cloud architecture, is essential to meet the specific needs of the telecommunications client.
- Strong Communication and Coordination Skills

- Experience with Infrastructure Logging and Monitoring Solutions: Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools for alerting and reporting is highly desirable, as it helps ensure operational stability and effective issue resolution.
- Automated Builds and Workflow Automation: Experience with automated builds of new data center infrastructure deployments and Workflow Automation platforms is preferred, as it enhances efficiency and consistency in infrastructure management.
- Certifications and Specialized Knowledge: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA Data Center, Linux Foundation Certified Engineer, Linux Foundation Kubernetes Administrator, VMware VCP, and NetApp Certified Data Administrator are advantageous. They indicate a higher level of expertise and commitment to professional development in the field.
