Role
The Systems Administrator is a hands-on role responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This includes ensuring compliance with GxP and SOX 404 regulations, providing technical support to our end users, and overseeing and managing our service providers. The person in this role will also be involved in developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures and ensuring the security and reliability of our systems. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will support our hybrid and remote workforce and develop employee onboarding and offboarding procedures.
This role will coordinate resources, prioritize IT projects directly impacting enGene’s enterprise systems, and provide strategic, end-to-end business processes, operations, and technical guidance for IT solutions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, and Entrada platforms and services
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, availability, and security issues
- Support end users with hardware, software, and network issues
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of managed service providers and vendors
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, such as backup, disaster recovery, change management, and access control
- Ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, and SOX 404 requirements and documentation
- Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions to improve our IT capabilities and efficiency
- Support our hybrid and remote workforce and ensure the availability and security of their devices and connections
- Develop employee onboarding and offboarding procedures and manage their accounts and access rights
- Manage the procurement of hardware and IT equipment, evaluating vendors and negotiating contracts for cost-effective purchases

Required Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a systems administrator in the biotech industry
- Strong knowledge and experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, and Entrada
- Experience working with 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP software-validated systems adhering to regulatory standards and best practices
- Experience developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures, including cybersecurity and vendor management
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
