About The Role
This fully-remote contract role demands strong writing skills and a deep passion for education. You will be responsible for—but not limited to—the following:
- Asynchronous content creation for a wide variety of lesson materials, including digital and print resources
- Participating to numerous stages of the development pipeline, including authoring, editing others' work, and conducting quality control efforts pre-launch
- Achieving and maintaining individual key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Attending a small number of synchronous trainings to hone your skills
- Ensuring that all lesson content is engaging, accurate, and effective
This contract position has the potential to transform from a part time contributor to a full-time team member with our Academic Product Creation (APC) department.
Contract Details
This is a 1099 contract position. Must be willing to commit to 6-7 hours per week and enjoy regular coaching and feedback. We are looking for multiple contractors for an approximately 90-day trial period, with the end goal being an offer of full-time employment if there is mutual interest.
Requirements
- 2+ years of educational content authoring experience outside of the classroom
- Experience working with curriculum companies, including but not limited to textbook authoring, online asynchronous lesson development and practice test creation
- Subject matter expert in English, Math, Science, or Social Studies
- A strong understanding of key instructional concepts, including scaffolding and test-taking strategies
- Experience with standardized testing, including ACT, SAT, and EOC/EOG
- Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
- Receptivity to feedback
- Exceptional writing skills; creative writing experience is a plus
- Technology prowess is a plus
Compensation:
This is a 1099 contract position with a pay rate of $40/hr.
The expected annual salary range for our full-time developers is $50K-$65K based on experience and performance as a contractor.
