Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Network Administrator in the Dundee FL area
This is a full time direct hire ONSITE position
Duties:
- Administers, installs, supports and oversees LANs, WANs, related network services, and internet/ intranet systems including (but not limited to) servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, iPhone, software installations, security updates and patches.
- Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring analysis and identifies network problems; referring to outside consultant when necessary.
- Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation. Maintains network documentation (in conjunction with outside consultant) and
- determines system requirements.
- Works with management on recommendations needed to upgrade network by conferring with vendors and outside consultant to develop, test, evaluate and install
- hardware, software and telecommunication equipment as needed to maintain a technically sound network. Presents purchase options and costing for approval.
- Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs and educates users about compliance issues as to system policies.
- Provides first line support for office personnel for all computer-related systems.
- Installs, manages, and supports Microsoft Windows desktop PCs.
- Installs, configures, and troubleshoots network and personal printers.
- Provides first line support for packinghouse personnel for all computer-related systems.
- Manages licenses for all operating-system-related software in conjunction with outside consultant.
- Installs, maintains and analyzes VoIP system suggesting software and hardware upgrades to enhance performance and functionality of system. Monitors telephone
- service levels and direct service provider with appropriate changes to service level based on business need. Reviews service vendor invoices for accuracy and
- compliance with contracts. Works with management to determine most reliable and cost effective service provider at time of contract renewals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related degree preferred or 5 plus years’ experience in the IT field or similar combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of computer networking.
- A working knowledge of these technologies: telecommunications networks, Microsoft Office; Windows server and client versions and related utilities; e-mail servers; networking technologies including cisco router/switch administration; Ethernet and wireless networking and related protocols; VPN, remote access, and configurations of home PCs connected to the corporate network remotely; cellular phones; hardware installation and support; system security techniques and firewall administration;
- Internet and Web technologies knowledge
