Job Title: Director of Risk Management
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Risk Management to lead and oversee the organization's risk management strategy, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across all business functions. In this role, you will develop and implement risk management policies and procedures, and provide strategic guidance to safeguard the organization’s assets and operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization’s risk management framework and strategies to identify, assess, and manage risks.
- Lead the risk assessment process, including identifying potential risks, analyzing their impact, and developing risk mitigation plans.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor and report on risk management activities and performance to senior management and the board of directors.
- Conduct risk evaluations and stress testing to ensure effective risk management and response strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate risk management practices into business processes and decision-making.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to enhance risk management practices.
- Manage and mentor the risk management team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective risk management across the organization.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies on risk-related matters and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM)) are preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in risk management, with a proven track record in leading risk management initiatives and teams.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and develop strategic solutions.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing risk management teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex risk information clearly to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
