POSITION SUMMARY:
The Risk Reporting Analyst position holds responsibility for supporting the development of risk reporting and analysis. The role works directly with numerous stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the daily preparation, monitoring and analysis of risk management reporting reporting includes, but is not limited to daily trade reporting, MtM, Position, Exposure, VaR and other statistical measurements.
- Supports development of reporting needed to monitor all functions of the business outlined in the organization's Risk Management policy
- Supports development of policies, procedures and internal controls needed across functions of the organization for risk mitigation, especially around new business
- Responsible for daily confirmation activity between organization and counterparties/brokers, including monthly P&S
- Support and facilitate interaction with multiple areas of the business including, but not limited to Trading, Operations, Sales and Finance teams
- Responsible for daily management of pricing (product and freight) needed in Right Angle to ensure accurate customer billings
- Manage end-of-month reporting pertaining to derivatives, including but not limited to gross profit components
- Support development of policies, procedures and internal controls across the organization needed for risk mitigation, especially around new business
- Supports risk reporting and analysis needed at the executive management team level
- Perform additional duties determined as necessary
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in business and/or mathematical/statistical disciplines or equivalent work experience
- 2 -5 years' prior business experience: operational or risk preferred
- Basic understanding of risk reporting required. Knowledge of risk reporting from ETRM system a plus
- Ability to listen to others with proven ability to express ideas both orally and in writing and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc.
- Understanding of trading and derivative concepts
- Strong analytical and problem solving skill sets: Must be attentive to detail with proven ability to accept responsibility and ownership of data integrity and apply self-checking techniques
- Ability to assess problem areas and work with business personnel too practical business decisions
- Strong computer skills; Experience working in Windows, Internet Explorer and MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Note: Petroleum industry knowledge experience a plus
- Knowledge of OPIS, Platts, Argus, and cash markets a plus
