Responsibilities
- The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and reliable network infrastructures for our clients.
- Configure and deploy network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring proper connectivity and integration
- Optimize network configurations and protocols to ensure efficient data transmission and reliable connectivity
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resolution
- Conduct root cause analysis of network incidents and implement preventive measures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures
- Document network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities to facilitate knowledge sharing
- Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates to ensure network reliability and security
- Provide guidance and mentorship, sharing knowledge and best practices
- Monitor ticketing system and respond timely to escalated Incidents and Service Requests
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams
- Implement security measures across hardware and software in accordance with company and client requirements, updating associated documentation as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in Network Engineer Position
- Experience configuring, troubleshooting network hardware and software including but not limited to Routers, Switches and Access Points
- Experience with different vendor gear including Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet, and others.
- Experience with Cisco and Fortinet are required
- Experience with, Meraki and Fortinet are a plus
- Previous experience working for an MSP a plus
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, security, and troubleshooting techniques
- Success in leading and managing large, complex projects with multiple phases
- Excellent interpersonal, written (grammar, spelling, format), and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing demands in a dynamic environment
- Ability to develop alternative solutions to problems, comparing and analyzing data and measuring results
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network environments
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools
- Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry trends
