Job Summary: The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT support within our organization. You will lead initiatives to enhance IT support services, cybersecurity measures, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in managing vendor relationships, procuring technology equipment, and fostering a secure and efficient technology environment. The IT Manager has one direct report. This is a hybrid role in Minneapolis with frequent travel to Advisor Offices in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area, and occasional travel to Advisor offices in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. This role is ideal for someone who is very personable and enjoys forming relationships with business partners. Additionally, due to the smaller size of the firm this role will contain a wide variety of day-to-day responsibilities, if you enjoy learning and developing expertise across a wide range of IT & Cybersecurity subject matter areas this is a great opportunity! This role reports to the VP of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Exceptional IT Support: Ensure timely, effective, and positive support experiences for advisors and their teams through inbound IT phone and remote support channels.
- Oversee an IT Specialist whose primary responsibilities are setting up new computer hardware, troubleshooting and diagnosis of client technical problems.
- Onsite Outreach and Support – Visit advisors in their offices to provide IT support and IT outreach to improve technology systems. This includes traveling to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois.
- Develop Outbound Support Strategy: Design and implement proactive outbound support strategies to anticipate and address technology issues before they arise.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Act as the internal cyber officer, supporting cybersecurity initiatives, and implementing robust security measures to safeguard company data and systems.
- Technology Procurement: Manage the procurement process for all technology equipment, ensuring cost-effective purchases that meet operational needs.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Support technology-related compliance initiatives by reviewing and monitoring broker dealer reporting, participating in policy development, and implementing cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory standards.
- Vendor Management: Lead and coordinate vendor due diligence activities, ensuring vendors meet security and performance standards.
- Infrastructure Support: Oversee corporate infrastructure, identifying and addressing firm-wide training needs and coordinating infrastructure upgrades.
- Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve corporate computer and network-related problems promptly and efficiently.
- Strategic Planning: Define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing information technologies through annual planning and risk evaluation processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing technology and cybersecurity functions.
- Strong understanding of IT support methodologies and technologies.
- 5+ years of related IT experience
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the financial services or related industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Working knowledge of SEC & FINRA cybersecurity regulations
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications preferred.
