Responsibilities
- Implement and complete Network/System Architecture for current and future Laboratory Systems.
- Evaluate/propose improvements for hardware, cybersecurity requirements, and networking solutions.
- Creation and implementation of security policy and procedures
- Provide training and support on system requirements and improvements, as well as network and software processes.
- Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks
- Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans
- Install, configure and upgrade security software (e.g. Wazuh, Crowdstrike, Darktrace)
- Secure networks through firewalls, password protection and other systems
- Monitor network activity to identify issues early and communicate them to IT teams
- Act on privacy breaches and malware threats
- Serve as a security expert and conduct trainings when needed
- Design and deploy high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Ethernet, RDMA) for HPC environments.
- Configure networks to support cluster computing and large-scale data transfers.
- Monitor and optimize network performance for HPC workloads.
Skills
- Experience implementing HIPAA frameworks including HIPAA focused risk analysis
- Proven experience as a Computer Security Specialist
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g. NIST Cybersecurity framework) and risk management methodologies
- Knowledge of patch management, firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (e.g. TippingPoint)
- Familiarity with public key infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic protocols (e.g. SSL/TLS)
- Analytical, excellent problem-solver, outstanding communicator, organized, and decisive.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; professional certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP) is a plus
Must Haves
- Possess a Bachelor of Science degree from a Technical or an Engineering field in Computer Information Systems or similar or instead demonstrate an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Experience with cutting edge AI-based end point management and network intrusion software
- 3-5 years' experience configuring and maintaining firewalls and routers, etc.
- Exposure to cloud security architectures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of network security experience.
- 3+ years of experience creating and implementing strategic security plans and roadmaps.
- 3+ years of experience with technical requirements, design, testing, and implementation of security tools.
