Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This position is in our Uptown Dallas office and will provide local support as well as remote support for our home office and additional branch and field offices. This role combines helpdesk duties, hands-on desktop support, and systems administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on network, infrastructure, security, software, and end user platforms. This role will deliver exceptional service and support to our internal customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users for desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, such as system crashes, software conflicts, and network connectivity problems
- Set up and configure new workstations, ensuring they follow company policies and security standards
- Respond to and prioritize incoming help desk tickets, providing clear communication and updates to users throughout the support process
- Train end-users in software and hardware usage to enhance adoption and their productivity
- Assist in user and systems administration tasks such as account management, permissions, and file sharing configurations
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and related tasks performed
- Document standard operating procedures for common desktop tasks
- Collaborate with IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues
- Occasional travel to branch offices and field locations is required
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience of three or more years)
- Proven experience in desktop support and troubleshooting within a corporate environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams
- Experience with Azure Active Directory, Dropbox, Adobe, and Veeam is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and diagnose technical issues
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users at all levels of the organization
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar, are advantageous
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle multiple priorities
