StimLabs is hiring a Purchasing Manager to join our Operations department. This person will execute activities necessary for the timely and strategic procurement of goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for the organization. The Purchasing Manager will report to our Director, Procurement & Planning.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and implement methods to gather and manage supply chain data
- Research and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods
- Review and analyze gathered data to locate was areas in the supply chain process and develop methods to improve
- Research partner companies and seek to negotiate best-price contracts to increase business revenue
- Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects
- Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values
- Assist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationship with business partners and vendors
- Seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodology and processes
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management, including back-up of other Supply Chain functions such as planning and inventory control
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Work experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry highly preferred
- Proficient (intermediate skill level) in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience analyzing and improving supply chain data, information and processes
- Supply Chain Management certification is not necessary though strongly preferred
- High-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes
- Previous experience with ERP systems, especially Infor Syteline, strongly preferred
- Experience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processes
- Professional communication skills are essential when conversing and negotiating with vendors
- Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenge and needs to be addressed
- Ability to research companies and determine the best vendors to reach out to for various projects
- Experience working to improve all aspects of the supply chain by streamlining steps and locating the best prices for inventory
