Reporting to the Program Manager, the Cybersecurity Specialist (NQV) provides Risk Management Framework (RMF) support to DoD systems and networks to include scheduling, running, and analyzing scan reports for risks. This is a contingent position expected to be located in San Diego, CA. The pay range will be posted for this role when it is no longer contingent.
- Implement risk management programs for our federal clients by utilizing NIST, RMF, and FISMA compliance frameworks.
- Analyze outputs from vulnerability scanners, apply DoD STIGs and vendor patches, and provide mitigation and remedial testing.
- Analyze Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) requirements to determine applicability to existing systems.
- Work alongside federal clients to help them mitigate risk with the use of continuous monitoring and incident response.
- Establish security controls to ensure protection of client systems.
- Implement cutting edge security tools for our federal clients.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- HS Diploma required.
- At least three (3) years of experience providing Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other cybersecurity support to a DoD program office.
- Must be IAT Level II certified to be considered for this position (or higher-level cert):
- CompTIA Security + or equivalent.
Ability to read and understand Standard Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and use the information to generate technically sound mitigation statements.
- Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for entry and maintenance of RMF packages.
Experience with Navy/NAVSEA RMF tools, such as eMASSTER, EvaluateSTIG, and STIGMaster.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Assurance/Cybersecurity, or a related technical field is desired.
- More than five (5) years of experience providing Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other cybersecurity support to a DoD program office.
