Description
IBSS Corporation is seeking an experienced Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to support a Federal Security Operations Center. As a SOC Manager, you will play a valuable part in supporting the NCSC's mission to protect NOAA networks, computers, programs and data from cyber-attack damage and unauthorized access.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of approximately 20 cyber security professionals, including analysts, incident responders, and security tool engineers, spanning team leads, and junior to senior level resources for both operational and project-based functions.
- Serve as the primary Point of Contact and ultimate escalation point for the SOC.
- Regularly interact with federal staff counterparts to advise and coordinate on operational activities, including notable threats, active incidents, and situation awareness.
- Coordinate and communicate with Government leadership regarding significant operational and programmatic issues.
- Act as incident commander during high-severity incidents when necessary.
- Operate autonomously to investigate and escalate incidents per protocols and contractual SLAs, ensuring established processes are upheld and enforced.
- Develop and manage shift schedules.
- Report SOC-related metrics as defined and required within the contract.
- Handle managerial responsibilities, including staffing, performance assessment, career path planning, training, and coaching/mentoring for all SOC team members.
- Identify and prioritize SOC capability enhancement ideas for continuous improvement, assigning resources to support enhancement projects and special requests.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across the program to elevate the SOC to an industry-leading organization, working closely with the dedicated SOC transformation team, engineering team, and project management team.
Required Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications:
- Prior SOC management or supervisory experience in a 24x7 environment to effectively manage personnel.
- Proficient in multiple technologies and systems, including SIEM, SOAR, and IDS/IPS.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance (active Secret with Interim TS acceptable).
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enhancements to drive innovation, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.
- Previous experience as a change agent, implementing cultural and operational changes.
- BS degree with 10 years of experience, including 5 years of management/project experience.
Desired Skills:
- SOC Analyst and Incident Response Experience
- Prior experience working alongside significant technology refresh and insertion projects
