Summary:A leading Northern California Rice Mill is looking for its next Chief Executive Officer. The CEO will be responsible for the leadership, administration, and finance functions of the company.

Planning- Create annual operating plans that support strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with the board to define and articulate the company’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision.
- Develop and monitor strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the organization.
Management- Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity.
- Hire, train, and manage sales and key management employees thereby making sure the company has selected the best possible candidates. Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout the organization for problem solving and cost controls.Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving. Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
- Maintain individual skills by keeping up to date with latest management and leadership concepts.
Financial Management- Develop and monitor an accounting system to ensure accurate reporting to the board of directors, lenders, taxing authorities and others in accordance with generally accepted accounting policies.
- Monitor cash flows to ensure that corporate obligations are met on time.
- Manage relationship with bankers.
- Arrange for debt and equity financing.
Risk Management- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
- Develop and oversee a system of internal controls designed to reasonably safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Establish and monitor customer credit limits and payment terms and monitor customer compliance with terms.
- Manage insurance including coverage and risk retentions.
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the company has an appropriate food safety program.
- Ensure that the company has an appropriate employee safety program.
- Manage relationship with outside legal counsel.
Community Relationship- Embrace a service role for producers and shareholders with an open-door policy ensuring transparency in relationships with our grower/owner community.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative of the organization acting as a liaison between the organization, the community and the industry, building relationships with peer organizations when appropriate.
- Assure that the organization and its mission are consistently presented in a strong positive image to relevant stakeholders.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible management experience working with agricultural producers and/or producer owned companies.
Compensation:This position offers a competitive salary ($225-275k) depending on experience and qualifications. Bonus potential. In addition: Medical, Dental, Visioninsurance. Paid vacation, sick, and holiday pay. Retirement contribution.
