Overview
KeyNet is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer specializing in supporting network and server environments built primarily on Cisco/Meraki, VMware, Microsoft, Fortinet, Dell, and HPE solutions on our operational client support team. A solid understanding of common cloud solutions (i.e. Microsoft 365) related to client security and access is required. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our client networks and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional levels of support. This is a dynamic position, and you will be a key resource for our external clients and internal teams. This is a hybrid position that requires in-office hours. Success in this role requires passing a pre-employment assessment.
Responsibilities
- Build proficiency and knowledge on KeyNet Technologies and Clients systems, tools, processes, and procedures.
- Design, implement, and manage sophisticated IT infrastructures to ensure optimal enterprise-level operations performance, security, and scalability for our external clients.
- Work as an escalation point resource for other KeyNet Systems Engineers.
- Responding to service requests from multiple clients with varying infrastructure complexity levels.
- Troubleshoot network issues, diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions to restore service and prevent a recurrence.
- Monitoring network availability and performance using monitoring tools and performing proactive maintenance activities as needed.
- Escalating complex issues to higher-level support teams or vendors, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
- Become part of the KeyNet on-call support rotation.
- Maintain accurate records of time, service requests, and changes in the ticketing system while adhering to established service level agreements.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of network consulting experience that is external client-facing preferred.
- Strong proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting routing, switching, and firewall technologies on-premises and cloud.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting client, server, and cloud applications.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting premise Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Troubleshooting experience of premise Microsoft Exchange and SQL Experience deploying and managing Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco FirePower Threat Defense, and SonicWALL appliances and security features. Ability to equate firewall technologies not in our common stack to manage and migrate new clients to our primary perimeter security solutions.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and OSPF.
- MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, and Fortinet NSE certifications are highly desirable.
- Cloud solution certifications are also desired but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to meet our business requirements for auto insurance while traveling locally and occasionally long distances from our office.
