Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented IT Contract Manager to oversee our IT procurement and contract management processes. The IT Contract Manager will play a critical role in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements to optimize IT investments and minimize risks.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement and contracting process for IT goods, services, and solutions; collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, draft RFPs/RFQs, and evaluate vendor proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with IT vendors and service providers to achieve favorable terms, cost savings, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) throughout the procurement and contracting lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships; manage vendor performance, service levels, and contract deliverables to ensure quality and accountability.
- Monitor contract expiration dates, renewal options, and key milestones; proactively manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations as needed.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to review and draft contract terms, amendments, and statements of work (SOWs) to protect company interests and mitigate contractual risks.
- Establish and maintain contract management processes and tools to track contract lifecycle, obligations, and performance metrics.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, rights, and obligations; facilitate dispute resolution and escalation processes as necessary.
- Conduct regular contract reviews and audits to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in IT procurement and contract management.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Legal Studies, or related field (Master’s degree or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) designation is a plus).
- Proven experience (X years) as an IT Contract Manager, Procurement Manager, or similar role with a focus on IT contracts and vendor management.
- Strong understanding of IT procurement processes, contract negotiation principles, and legal aspects of contracts.
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts for IT services, software licenses, hardware acquisitions, and cloud services.
- Knowledge of contract law, contract drafting, and interpretation; ability to review and negotiate complex contractual terms and conditions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail with the ability to analyze contract terms, financial implications, and performance metrics.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement platforms is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
