Contract consulting opportunity for an experienced Network Analyst/Jr-Mid level Network Engineer
- Hybrid schedule onsite on Tuesdays and Wednesdays required (additional 1 or 2 extra days onsite in the first few weeks to get up and running).
- Client is seeking local to Minneapolis, MN area candidates. Client work authorization status requirements: US Citizen or GC holder
What you'll do: Help with new site moves and network refresh projects. Currently there are many older, outdated endpoints/hardware that need to be upgraded. The client is purchasing hardware in-house, configuring and getting it ready to ship out. Once it’s onsite, you will work with 3rd party vendors for the actual install, then support everything moving forward. You will also be working on site moves, coordinating with the other engineering groups to make sure they have everything they need from a hardware perspective (coordinate the move, make sure everything is hooked up correctly and neatly, then support the new site as well).
Communication is key for this role as you will handle a lot with third party vendor communication doing the installs, and communicating with internal customers and the other engineering groups.
Technical skills:
- Need someone familiar with Cisco router and switch configuration. Experience with deploying WiFi wireless would be helpful as well.
- Installing broadband and split-tunneling at our remote sites
- Checkpoint Firewalls
- Work with Telcos for installs
- Walk remote site personnel through the physical install of new - and decommission of old hardware
Additional experience:
- Templates to follow/adjust for particular remote site installs
- Support WAN connections for new sites and replacement of existing hardware
- Network is divided up by Office Network and Security Network
- Must be able to thrive in dynamic environment and handle multiple projects with moving parts
- Someone who is single-tasked focused is not going to work in this group
- Strong work ethic and able to work with minimal direction is key
