We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our technical team at a leading hedge fund. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex, high-performance network infrastructures in financial environments, focusing on low-latency, high-availability networks. You will work closely with traders, developers, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless network operations supporting real-time financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust network infrastructure for low-latency trading environments.
- Configure and manage Cisco Nexus switches and VXLAN for optimized network virtualization.
- Manage dynamic routing protocols, particularly BGP, ensuring optimized and stable connectivity.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Fortigate firewalls, ensuring high security standards across the network.
- Develop, maintain, and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, with a strong preference for Ansible.
- Optimize and troubleshoot network performance using low-latency solutions like Solarflare NICs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders and developers, to implement network changes quickly and effectively.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of network services, minimizing downtime for critical trading operations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a network engineer
- Strong expertise in Cisco Nexus and VXLAN technology.
- Proficient in BGP and other dynamic routing protocols.
- Experience with Fortigate firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible (or similar tools like Terraform, Puppet).
- Familiarity with low-latency networking solutions, including Solarflare NICs, is a strong plus.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- CCIE certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.
