The IT Specialist will be part of a team responsible for safeguarding information systems by identifying and solving potential and actual security issues. The candidate will assist in support and troubleshooting of current network environments, hardware configurations, and design and implement new systems.
Responsibilities
- Identify flaws in applications and systems that cyber attackers could exploit.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments for networks, applications, and operating systems.
- Organize time effectively, meets deadlines, and continuously strives for the best project outcomes.
- Conduct network security audits and scanning on a predetermined basis.
- Monitor and manage the company's security protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with team by actively participating in project team meetings, and works productively with all team members to meet deadlines.
- Support and troubleshoot issues in Windows and Linux environments, providing timely resolutions.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience implementing, operating, and supporting Tenable, Rapid7, or similar technologies in classified environments using RMF processes.
- Experience with Rapid7 and Tenable within the RMF Framework.
- Solid understanding of security protocols and their application in various environments.
- Proficiency in managing and securing both Windows and Linux environments.
- Ideally, experience transitioning from a helpdesk or network administration role to a security-focused position.
- Solid understanding of Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Advanced proficiency in self-management within a team
- Active Security Clearance.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ CE, Cisco CCNA-Security, CompTIA Network+ CE, (ISC)2 SSCP.
- BS or Associates degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
