Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization's complex network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of networking technologies, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead network projects and mentor junior engineers. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure our network infrastructure is scalable, secure, and highly-available.
Responsibilities - Network Design & Implementation:
- Configure and manage routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLAN, STP, EtherChannel);
- Design and deploy scalable network solutions including LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and wireless networks.
- Infrastructure Maintenance & Monitoring:
- Perform regular firmware updates, patches, and hardware upgrades to maintain security and compliance;
- Ensure network uptime, performance, and reliability through proactive monitoring using tools including SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar.
- Security Management:
- Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Team to ensure compliance with security standards and policies;
- Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN solutions to protect the network against threats.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization:
- Optimize network performance by analyzing traffic patterns and implementing Quality of Service (QoS);
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support business objectives;
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior network engineers.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and projects for management review;
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies, firewalls, and wireless networking.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent networking equipment.
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS.
Preferred
- Industry certifications including CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent.
- Experience with Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with using automation tools (Ansible, Python, or similar) for network operations.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks.
