The Network Engineer will use their experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries.

As a Network Engineer, you will provide Tier III network support in order to maintain high availability for operations across multiple enterprise networks, classification enclaves, and physical locations. These enterprise networks must be configured to support DoD Comply to Connect (C2C) requirements. This will require the Engineer to have a firm understanding of Network Access Control via Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). Daily responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining a mixture of Juniper and Cisco brand network assets using multiple tools including Splunk, ACAS, Infoblox and more. Such network infrastructure will include Multilayer switches, Routers, Hubs, Cisco ASA's, and JunOS Firewalls. Network Engineering is responsible for all manner of maintenance, from physically cleaning or cabling a switch to applying security controls based on DISA's STIG checklist to harden a network device. While providing Tier III network support, you will regularly interface with other Tier III Engineering teams to apply thorough diagnostic techniques when identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues throughout the network. Collaboration with other Tier III Engineering teams will also be required when standing up or integrating new network capabilities. Network asset management will be performed to maintain active licenses, up-to-date images, and hardware life cycles of all network infrastructure devices. As a member of a team, the Network Engineer will be expected to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all troubleshooting procedures based on known issues and/or recent outages. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience physically moving or replacing networking equipment, relabeling switches, and organizing the network closets.
Required:
- 6+ years of experience with networking hardware administration
- Experience with DoD IT security requirements, including installing patches and conducting STIG reviews
- Ability to analyze and refine standard operating procedures
- Experience with firmware upgrades and reimaging of network devices
- Experience with networking, including exceptional knowledge and understanding of Cisco ISE, Firewalls, F5 support, and DNS
- Experience with systems and service monitoring, including SolarWinds and GemONE
- Active DoD 8570 IAT-II Security Certification, such as Security+, CCNA-Security, or CISSP and applicable Computing Environment (CE) certification such as CCNA.

- Experience with virtualization, including VMware and VDI
- Experience with managing AD and Group Policy
- Knowledge of vulnerability and Vulnerability scanning tools, including Nessus, SCC Tool, ACAS, and Tanium
- Knowledge of Spine-Leaf Data Center network architecture
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
