MTSI is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a digital transformation initiative with our AFRL customer in Dayton OH. You will perform discovery on existing infrastructure, systems, applications and requirements, and then translate that back and advise system engineers on how to integrate it into our on-premise solution. Additionally, you will support setup, maintenance, administration and troubleshooting or software and systems, conduct security administration and access control, and integration between systems. Individuals best suited for this role should enjoy problem solving and be able to cope with sudden changes in taskings. Ideally this candidate would possess a wide range of experience with both cloud native and on-premise systems installation, configuration, and administration.
Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
- Configure and maintain Windows Active Directory.
- Configure Cisco and Dell managed switches.
- Patch and update various systems and software with enterprise tools.
- Work with leadership & teammates to develop and/or maintain systems documentation in support of system builds, application installs & other operations procedures
- Assist with security audits & work with staff to remediate any & all security findings with supported systems & applications
- Configure & monitor backups in accordance with applicable regulations, policies & guidance
- Work with cross-functional IT Teams to ensure effective execution of services
- Provide tiered support for applications and services residing both in cloud and on premise
- Perform backups for various systems, applications and services
- Assist in pre-install tasking like scoping, sizing, planning, networking, etc. for potential new applications and services
- Support integration efforts between applications and services (APIs, Data File Transfer, etc.)
- Develop application/service training, as needed, for users
- Maintain documentation for support, usage, and compliance for applications/services
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience, 4 of which should be above the tier 1 (help desk) level. Experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree in related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with DoD networks
- Must have a DoD IAT Level II - DoD 8140 (Formally 8570) certifications (i.e., Security+)
- Must have experience with configuring Windows Active Directory, Group Policies and DISA STIG’s.
- Experience with planning, implementing, administering, and securing network infrastructure including network security appliances, routers, managed switches, servers, workstations, peripherals, cabling, and other equipment
- Experience with TCP/IP protocols and advanced IT networking concepts required
- Working knowledge of several of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Cisco IOS, DNS, Disk SAN, security assessment tools and network hardware and media (blade-servers, fiber- channel, and network cabling)
- Experience implementing, upgrading, and administering Windows servers, including SQL Server and Hyper-V required
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with network monitoring and log aggregation tools preferred
- Experience with workstation imaging and deployment solutions and automated application deployment tools preferred
- Experience with Nutanix AHV desired
- Experience with RHEL 8 in a Windows domain desired
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops desired
Clearance:
- Must have an active Secret clearance and be eligible for a Top-Secret clearance.
