Position Summary: The Deputy Director will assist the Director of Recovery with the day to day management of the Business Unit including, but not limited to, business development, the development and implementation of policies as directed by the Business Unit Leader, the supervision of staff assigned to the business unit as well as supporting the operational and management goals of the business unit. The Deputy Director will also serve as an engagement manager for projects when assigned by the Director. When acting as an Engagement Manager, the Deputy Director will serve as an alternate point of contact for the client and will support the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, and project staff. The Deputy Director will engage with the client and will ensure that the assigned staff are meeting the needs of the client. The Deputy Director will also monitor all contracts, task orders and invoicing associated with their assigned projects as well as the related direct and indirect project costs. The Deputy Director will assist the Senior Project Manager/ Project Manager with the management of their assigned projects and will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring profitability of said projects. The Deputy Director will complete other tasks as assigned by the Director or the Assistant Vice President of Recovery.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Business Unit Lead with the administration of the Disaster Recovery BU
- Supervise and mentor assigned staff
- Assist with the career development of assigned staff
- Act as the engagement manager for assigned projects
- Manage projects when assigned by Director of Recovery
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Complete all required compliance training on an annual basis

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, plus
- Seven years of experience in the disaster recovery/emergency management field or ten years of management experience in a related field
