About the Role
As our CTO, you’ll be the architect of our technological future, leading the charge to build secure, scalable platforms that redefine financial services in Asia. You’ll blend strategic foresight with hands-on leadership, ensuring our tech stack and team evolve in lockstep with our ambitious growth. This role is for a seasoned leader who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at bridging technical and business priorities, and is passionate about mentoring world-class teams.
Responsibilities
- Tech Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the long-term technology roadmap, aligning with business goals and market opportunities in Southeast Asia.
- Scale & Security: Architect a robust, compliant infrastructure (microservices, event-driven systems) capable of handling millions of users while adhering to financial regulations (e.g., data privacy, PCI-DSS).
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering organization. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration.
- Innovation & R&D: Stay ahead of fintech trends (AI/ML, blockchain, cloud-native solutions) and drive R&D initiatives to maintain competitive advantage.\
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the CEO, product, and compliance teams to align tech initiatives with business strategy. Represent Honest to investors, regulators, and tech partners.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee DevOps, QA, and security practices, ensuring seamless CI/CD pipelines, disaster recovery, and 99.9%+ uptime.
- Cost Management: Optimize cloud infrastructure and vendor partnerships for scalability and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in tech leadership roles (CTO, VP Engineering, or similar), with 5+ years in fintech, banking, or regulated industries.
- Proven track record of scaling platforms to 1M+ users and managing distributed systems (Golang, Python, Terraform, AWS/GCP).\
- Deep understanding of financial compliance (e.g., KYC, AML) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Expertise in Agile/DevOps practices, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong leadership DNA: Ability to inspire teams, resolve ambiguity, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication skills; fluency in English required.
