About the Role
Our client is a publicly traded cybersecurity company known for its cutting-edge solutions in data protection, threat detection, and insider risk management. As they continue to expand in the public sector, they are hiring a Head of Sales - SLED (State, Local, and Education) to lead this high-impact vertical across North America.
This role is a key leadership opportunity, reporting into the North American Head of Sales. The ideal candidates with have deep SLED experience, strong sales leadership credentials, and the ability to drive go-to-market strategy within a regulated and complex selling environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for the SLED vertical, aligned with broader North American goals.
- Build and lead a team of Regional Sales Directors and Account Executives focused on the public sector.
- Drive pipeline growth, deal velocity, and regional market share through strategic planning and execution.
- Serve as a trusted advisor in complex sales cycles, from initial contact to close, including navigating multi-stakeholder procurement processes.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Legal, Sales Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to deliver tailored public sector solutions.
- Represent the company at relevant SLED-focused events, fostering executive-level relationships and identifying strategic partnership opportunities.
What You Bring
- 10-15+ years of enterprise software or cybersecurity sales experience, with at least 5 years in a public sector or SLED-specific leadership role.
- A proven ability to lead and scale high-performing, geographically distributed sales teams.
- Deep familiarity with SLED procurement cycles, including state budgets, RFPs, and contracting processes.
- Strong understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks critical to public sector deals (e.g., CJIS, FERPA, NASPO, GSA).
- Executive presence with a strategic, data-driven mindset.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with cross-functional collaboration.
This role is remote, but travel throughout the US required.
