We’re seeking a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer—a hybrid technologist who’s equally comfortable racking servers and writing automation scripts. This role requires a solid foundation in traditional Linux systems administration, combined with experience in DevOps practices and cloud-based infrastructure. You'll play a key role in supporting render farms, artists, and production pipelines, helping the studio stay on the cutting edge of creative technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain a multi-site Linux environment for VFX production workflows.
- Manage physical and virtual infrastructure, including storage, compute, and networking.
- Automate and streamline systems through scripting (Bash, Python) and config management tools.
- Deploy and maintain render nodes, workstations, and backend systems.
- Assist with onboarding, workstation troubleshooting, and general technical support.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and contribute to infrastructure-as-code workflows.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Linux Systems Administration (RHEL, CentOS)
- Advanced scripting skills in Python and Bash—capable of building scripts from scratch
- Cloud platform administration experience with GCP and AWS
- Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef
- Strong background in automation and CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, GitLab, Cron, Ansible
- Solid experience with version control systems (GIT)
- Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms including Isilon, TrueNAS, NetApp, and Qumulo
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools like Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, or ELK
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies: Proxmox, Citrix XenServer, VMware, KVM, Kubernetes, Docker
