Department: Packaging
Location: Gainesville, FL
Description
To provide leadership and support to direct reports within Packaging that creates an engaging environment that inspires teammates to go above and beyond to meet customer need.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and well-ordered workplace, identifying and resolving safety issues within the department, and ensuring all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining smooth and productive working relationships with internal and external leads and support functions (Planning, sales, Quality etc.) to accomplish department or company goals
- Accountable for accurate communication across and within production shifts for all Packaging functions
- Consults with Manager on personnel attributes of the department, such as hiring for short and long-range staffing plans based on productivity objectives and forecasted volume requirements
- Responsible for accurate performance monitoring in support of appropriate on-time feedback and evaluation and salary adjustments as identified
- Responsible for ensuring that all training for personnel is completed on-time and that training is comprehensive to duties performed by staff
- Responsible for upholding compliance by staff to all company procedures and SOPs in all Packaging Functions and communication to appropriate functions when non-compliance is identified
- Responsible for assistance with FDA and ISO Audits
- Responsible for or is consulted in the development, implementation and adherence to all departmental SOP’s and Work Instructions
- Responsible for ensuring team objectives are met and making appropriate adjustments and/or recommendations to meet changes in demand on a daily weekly and monthly basis using MRP/ERP tools as provided
- Responsible for daily balancing of labor availability and volume requirements throughout the department
- Provide consultation and direct labor support of Engineering/Continuous improvement in product and process development as needed
- Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards
- Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Education:- High School Diploma or GED required. Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred
Experience:- Previous applicable supervisory experience
- Previous manufacturing experience in a ISO/FDA regulated environment preferred
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:- Strong leadership abilities demonstrated in current position
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are required
- Strong computer skills required
