Position Summary
We are seeking a
Chief Technology Officer to architect and lead a bold enterprise information technology vision that enables breakthrough innovation in oncology diagnostics, accelerates digital transformation, and unlocks scalable growth across our platform.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CTO will play a central role in shaping the future of NeoGenomics’ business and technology strategy - transforming engineering from a traditional support function into a strategic growth enabler and competitive differentiator. This is a highly influential role with direct impact on innovation, operational excellence, M&A strategy, and patient outcomes.
You are a proven enterprise information technology leader with a successful track record in complex, high-growth healthcare or diagnostics environments. You thrive at the intersection of innovation and execution—comfortable setting long-term strategic direction while also rolling up your sleeves to drive near-term impact. You bring both vision and discipline to how technology can unlock new revenue, optimize operations, and create lasting value.
Core Responsibilities
Enterprise Strategy & Innovation
- Define and execute a multi-year enterprise information technology roadmap aligned with business growth, clinical innovation, and data strategy.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver technology-enabled offerings that enhance oncology diagnostics, digital pathology, and patient insights.
- Lead NeoGenomics’ digital transformation - driving cloud migration (AWS, Azure), system modernization, and platform integration at scale.
Data, Analytics & AI Leadership
- Architect scalable, interoperable data infrastructure to power advanced analytics, AI, and clinical decision support.
- Build enterprise data capabilities that enable smarter operations, new revenue models, and more personalized patient solutions.
- Ensure governance, security, and compliance in managing sensitive health data across complex systems.
M&A Integration & Scalability
- Lead IT and data integration strategy during acquisitions - aligning systems, infrastructure, and teams for long-term value creation.
- Streamline enterprise architecture and operational systems to support scalable growth and innovation at pace.
Organizational & Cultural Leadership
- Build and mentor a world-class team across engineering, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and data operations.
- Operate as a true Player/Coach - balancing executive leadership with hands-on engagement to drive credibility and performance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability across cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations and Human Resources.
Experience, Education And Qualifications
- 15+ years in progressive information technology leadership roles, ideally in diagnostics, healthcare services, or life sciences.
- Deep experience leading enterprise transformation, digital innovation, and data strategy in highly regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, digital health platforms, and payer/provider systems.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale system modernization (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle, LIMS), cloud transformation, and AI/analytics enablement.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence board-level stakeholders and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Thoughtful, pragmatic decision-maker with high intellectual horsepower and a bias toward action.
