Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of DevOps to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our secure software delivery and infrastructure automation practices. This role is critical in driving reliability, scalability, and security across our engineering ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing DevSecOps team, promoting a culture of innovation, ownership, and excellence.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, source control, observability, and alerting platforms.
- Drive adoption of DevSecOps, secure SDLC, and GitOps practices across engineering teams.
- Design and implement scalable automation for infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
- Promote containerization and manage the adoption of Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance deployment frequency, reduce failure rates, and improve system reliability.
- Evaluate and manage vendor relationships, including contracts, technical assessments, and onboarding.
- Assess and integrate emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
- Foster continuous improvement through iterative development and experimentation.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps principles, Incident and Problem Management.
- 10 - 15 years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Software Engineering domains.
- Proven experience leading technical teams of 10+ members.
- Expertise in large-scale system administration and tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, Nexus, and Git.
- Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Strong Linux administration skills and hands-on AWS experience.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and planning capabilities with a focus on delivering results.
- Ability to assess trade-offs in architecture and operations to align with business goals.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and delivery-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.
Salary Range: $150,000 USD - $200,000 USD
