ROLE SUMMARY
As the founding CIO and initial IT leader, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for establishing and leading the company's overall information technology strategy, infrastructure, security, and data governance.
You will both architect the strategy and initially drive its hands-on implementation, building the internal technology foundation required to support rapid growth, ensuring our systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with our human-centered values.
You will oversee IT operations, business systems implementation, data privacy and security, and the technology infrastructure needed to support both our internal teams and the delivery of our core platform services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy encompassing infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, and compliance.
Initially, take a hands-on approach to implementing foundational systems and processes, while simultaneously building the strategic roadmap for future team growth, scaling infrastructure, and delegation.
Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of internal business systems (CRM, ERP, HRIS, Collaboration tools) to optimize operations and employee experience.
Establish and enforce robust information security policies, procedures, and controls to protect company and user data, ensuring alignment with our "Data with Dignity" principle.
Lead data governance initiatives, ensuring data privacy, integrity, and ethical use across the organization.
Architect and manage scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure and IT operations to support company growth and platform delivery.
Build and lead a high-performing IT team (internal and/or outsourced partners).
Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology procurement.
Ensure IT systems support seamless internal collaboration and productivity, reflecting the company's mission to reduce friction.
Partner closely with the CTO to establish clear domain responsibilities and ensure seamless alignment between the internal IT environment (corporate systems, security, core infrastructure) and the external product technology stack and architecture.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience as a CIO, VP of IT, or similar senior IT leadership role, demonstrated within a high-growth technology startup or SaaS environment.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling IT infrastructure, operations, and security functions from an early stage.
Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise security best practices, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and IT governance frameworks.
Experience selecting and implementing core business systems (CRM, ERP, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous early-stage environment, comfortable shifting between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a company with AI/ML products or significant data components.
Familiarity with compliance standards relevant to the tech industry (e.g., SOC 2).
