Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator with experience managing and maintaining both Linux and Windows-based environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, security, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure system uptime, performance, and scalability while providing support to end-users and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers running Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Server (2016, 2019, etc.)
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and security of infrastructure
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing in a Windows environment
- Implement user permissions and directory structures on both Linux and Windows platforms
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, PowerShell, or other tools
- Perform system updates, patch management, and backups
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and change logs
- Assist with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Collaborate with network administrators, developers, and support staff on infrastructure projects and service improvements
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in a mixed OS environment
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)
- Strong experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, DNS, etc.)
- Experience with backup solutions, monitoring tools, and security best practices
- Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization and cloud infrastructure is a plus
