We are looking for a talented, self-starting, diligent, experienced Systems Administrator to maintain and administer our company's networked system of computers. The Systems Administrator responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security.
To be successful as a Systems Administrator, he or she should have an excellent ability to solve problems using an in-depth understanding of information systems and computing solutions as well as present options of such problems to management. The best Systems Administrator will also be a highly motivated, self-starting team player, willing to handle all support requests with courtesy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Acquisition & Deployment
- Deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
- Implement defensive security controls for AWS, Office365, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, and servers.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
Operational Management
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Perform and delegate server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Acts as a point of escalation for the systems administration team
- Documents and communicates identified problems to be resolved
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Perform required patching and vulnerability remediation on servers
- Perform routine maintenance and prescribed maintenance functions
- Monitors and maintains software licensing
- Documents and communicates priorities for the systems administration team
- Monitors and maintains support and maintenance agreements
- Maintains broad knowledge of current technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Participates in and completes required and professional training
- Aid in generating regular reports required for management and compliance
- Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
- Monitor system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- Resolve service desk incident tickets and fulfill requests
Demonstrates a commitment to Total Quality and the process of continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with approved Corporate and company IT policies.
- Provide training and mentoring to other team members
- Perform other assigned duties as required

Knowledge & Experience
- Experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.

Education Background
- The Systems Administrator will have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of administration experience, associate degree and 5 years related experience, or 8 years related experience.
- ITIL certification a plus
- Recent MCSA certification a plus
- Other IT related certification favorable
Skills
- 3-5 years of experience with domain controllers, Active Directory, group policies, and a Microsoft Windows environment required
- Experience with PowerShell scripting
- Experience with performance monitoring software
- Experience with VMWare a plus
- Experience with SSO and MFA solutions are a plus
- Experience using scripting languages to automate tasks and manipulate data; programming experience is a plus
- Experience with Linux a plus
- Experience with public clouds a plus
- Experience manipulating data and creating presentation material in Microsoft Office software a plus.
- Experience with aspects of high availability fault tolerant architectures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines
