System Administrator
Comp: $45-50/HR and $85-100K upon conversion
Duration: 6 Month Contract-to-Hire
Location: Torrance, CA
5 days/ week onsite
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the entire
lifecycle of computer systems within a Microsoft Windows domain environment. This role includes deploying software and operating system updates, administering Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, and SharePoint, and providing Tier 2 desktop, network, and application support. Additionally, the Systems Administrator plays a key role in security initiatives, ensuring compliance and resolving security incidents. The position involves training new employees on IT best practices, maintaining inventory and asset documentation, monitoring data backups, and defining support procedures. Proactive network and system monitoring is essential to maintaining performance and security. This position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and capable of maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment while exhibiting our Core Values.
A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular Functions include:
• System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, workstations, and IT infrastructure.
• Network Management: Manage and monitor network performance, firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure secure and optimal connectivity.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security measures, monitor for vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents to protect company assets.
• User Support: Provide technical support to internal users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Train and educate new employees on IT best practices, software, phones, and security.
• Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data.
• Software & Patch Management: Perform software installations, updates, and system patching to maintain system security and stability.
• Cloud & Virtualization: Manage Azure cloud services and Hyper-V virtual environments.
Administer Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, and SharePoint Online.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain IT documentation, system configurations, and incident reports for auditing and compliance. Manages user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Define and document best practices and support procedures. Documents ticket work accurately via the ticketing system.
• Performs other duties as required.
Periodic Functions include:
• May assist with end user training.
• Serves as a backup within the department when required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Does not supervise anyone.
B. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT
• Minimum 4 years of proven experience

Professional/Technical Training and Skills include:
• Strong knowledge of Windows server administration.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 administration.
• Hands-on experience with networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity best
practices.
• Proficiency in Azure cloud computing platforms.
• Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Active Directory experience (Microsoft Intune and Mobile Device management)
Working knowledge in some or all the following areas preferred:
- Remote Desktop Services (i.e. sessions & configuration management)
- Microsoft Office 365, Exchange and SharePoint Online
- Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016-2022
- Endpoint security in enterprise environment
- Microsoft/Cisco/Fortinet networking (General)
- Software/OS deployment and updates to 100+ Windows systems
- Scripting languages such as DOS and PowerShell
• Dell hardware experience
Licenses and Certifications include:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+ required to do this job.
• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Certification preferred
