We are seeking a highly skilled Okta Engineer with 10+ years of IT experience and 3+ years of direct experience in Okta SSO solutions to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience migrating applications to Okta, a strong understanding of Zero Trust security concepts, and expertise in IAM protocols, authentication mechanisms, and identity federation.
Key Responsibilities:
Okta Implementation & Integration:
- Install, configure, and migrate applications to Okta.
- Integrate applications using SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth, RADIUS, and SCIM.
- Implement and troubleshoot Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Passwordless Authentication.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting within the Okta Identity Provider (IdP) using tools like SAML Tracer, Fiddler, etc.
- Provide Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and pilot implementations for Zero Trust integration.
Identity & Access Management (IAM):
- Deep understanding of IAM concepts, authentication protocols, directories, and API gateways.
- Expertise in IAM-related protocols like SAML, SPML, XACML, SCIM, OAuth, OIDC, and REST APIs.
- Work with Active Directory (AD), Entra ID (Azure AD), and Group Policy Management (GPM).
- Ensure proper group policy changes and maintain documentation.
Microsoft 365 & Infrastructure Support:
- Provide support for the Microsoft 365 stack (Exchange Online Hybrid, Intune, Entra ID, Teams, OneDrive).
- Work on Windows Server administration, AD configurations, and basic MS SQL administration.
- Monitor and report IAM-related metrics and trends to stakeholders.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead Okta engineering projects from start to finish.
- Participate in executive-level discussions on technical issues and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, improve, and optimize IAM solutions.
- Escalate issues to vendors and third-party entities when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 3+ years of direct hands-on experience with Okta SSO solutions.
- Experience with Zero Trust Security Concepts and Identity Federation.
- Strong expertise in IAM protocols and authentication mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory (AD), LDAP, and API integrations.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 stack administration.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, technical teams, and customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Okta certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Professional, Okta Certified Administrator, Okta Certified Consultant).
- Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and cloud-based IAM solutions.
- Prior experience leading IAM security projects.
- Familiarity with IT security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
