The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting our organization's computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, implementing security measures, and ensuring data integrity. The ideal candidate will understand various operating systems, networking protocols, and security best practices.
Responsibilities
o Install, configure, and maintain servers (physical and virtual), workstations, and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
o Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
o Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing timely and practical support to system users.
o Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential problems.
o Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
o Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery testing.
o Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
o Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and security threats.
o Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to ensure seamless IT operations.
o Manage and maintain inventory of IT hardware and software.
o Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
o Collaborate with all department leaders to utilize technology to optimize workflows and processes to drive operational efficiency.
Qualifications
o A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
o Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in a similar environment.
o Strong understanding of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
o Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
o Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
o Experience with Active Directory or other directory services.
o Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
o Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
o Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, RHCSA) are a plus
Travel-Related Requirements
o The majority of time spent will be at Corporate Headquarters in Bossier City, Louisiana.
o Travel to other facilities required
o Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
o Valid passport with no travel restrictions required
