ARCO is currently seeking a Chief Information Officer to join our team in our Brentwood, MO office. The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide leadership in the development of the strategic direction for information technology services, monitoring trends and innovations in the industry to meet those needs, developing and implementing strategic long and short-term technology plans; and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
This is a new role that will be created within the centralized Corporate Services Group of a rapidly growing Company that supports a group of over 20 unique, independent businesses. This CIO will be responsible for the building of the IT team that is needed to carry out the long-term goals of the organization. Through the effective and innovative use of technology and data we will improve the efficiency of our operations and strengthen our competitive advantage in a transforming industry. The CIO will also lead the IT Department of our Corporate Services Group and will therefore be responsible for overseeing the Technology Infrastructure and Network Security.
This position will require an extraordinary thought leader with demonstrated successes leading information technology in large complex organizations and the ability to lead change through intellect, influence, and persuasion amongst many shareholders. - Provide vision, leadership, and business alignment that leads to development and implementation of a strategic IT vision for all areas of the organization.
- Develop overall strategies for enterprise wide systems, architecture and design to ensure systems integrate well and can be shared easily among authorized users.
- Exercise diligent evaluation and careful budgetary management, including budget preparation and the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
- Benchmark IT spending against other Service businesses both inside and outside the design/construction industry and use the information to educate the shareholders to encourage sound investments.
- Educate, advise, and collaborate with the leadership team appropriately to make sound decisions regarding technology’s role in achieving the Company’s strategic goals.
- Deliver reliable, proven technology solutions to the organization to ensure the Company teams have the tools to meet the client needs.
- Ensure IT data security, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning processes are in place and receive regular review for adequacy.
- Work with leadership to develop an organization structure that allows for proper internal resources to meet longer term goals.
- Set objectives and strategies to lead the existing corporate IT department. Provide guidance to technology team and other associates within the independent organizations.
- Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the information technology department.
- Oversee the network infrastructure in the organization to ensure optimal performance and dependability across various company locations.
- Monitor emerging trends and advancements in technology to ensure company continues to gain competitive advantage in our industry.
- Create dialog between all Corporate Service verticals to allow for better collaboration, standardization with technology initiatives.
- Ensure data consistency and transferability between independently selected software systems.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another Technology-Related field preferred. Advanced degree in technology leadership or business administration preferred.
- 15-20 years’ experience in the technology sector.
- A visionary leader who can guide technology direction through influence, to unify and inspire a complex organization of stakeholders.
- Extensive experience with IT strategic planning, budgeting, and personnel management.
- Ability to influence change in a decentralized and rapidly growing business.
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop and lead successful project teams of IT professionals.
- Solid understanding of data analysis and business operations for budget planning.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities with an attention to detail.
- Broad technical knowledge, with understanding of emerging IT trends.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in qualifying and negotiating with vendors, contractors, and others.
- Significant experience in all aspects of information technology, planning, development, implementation, including but not limited to enterprise resource planning, systems architecture, telecommunications, database administration, web and social media development.
